If you’ve ever been listening to music in one room and realized you needed to do something elsewhere in the house, you probably felt like your music was holding you prisoner. Do you pull out the CD and start it over at your new location? Have you contemplated wearing headphones around the house just to give you any mobility? With MTX A-BUS, your music is ready and waiting, wherever you need it.
The A-BUS hub is the core of the system. It distributes audio signal, system power, and status indication to A-BUS power modules installed in rooms throughout the home and sends IR commands from the power modules back to the source components. It is usually located near the main sound system (Amplifier/Receiver, CD, DVD, Tape, Cable, etc.). The HUB4x8 has 4 input and 4 zone outputs for a total of 8 rooms. An expansion port (IN/OUT) allows multiple hubs to be connected to expand the system for installations larger than 8 rooms (Power supply and remote included).
The MTX A-BUS VC2 volume control power module incorporates stereo amplifiers with a level control that can power a pair of speakers in each room. Only one category 5 (CAT-5) cables is needed to connect the hub and the power module making install quick and easy. Speaker cable is then run from the power module to the speakers. The MTX VC2 IR-equipped modules relay 38kHz and 56kHz codes to the source components for input track/channel selection, etc. It also includes infrared talkback and status indication. An LED indicator signifies when the A-BUS system is on (see Power/Status below) and it flashes to signify an infrared command has been received. The volume level on the MTX VC2 A-BUS module can also be operated by the supplied remote control handset. Three colors of Decora style wall plates, inserts, and buttons are also included (white, ivory, and bone).
